Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. has always distinguished itself as a public service organization of black, college educated women since its founding in 1913. It fearlessly confronts the challenges faced by African Americans as well as all Americans. Throughout the years Delta Sigma Theta has opened a wide range of programs addressing problematic issues faced within the African American communities through its Five Point Program Thrust. In addition, The Prairie Alumnae Chapter has served Waller County for over 69 years. Continuously upholding the sorority’s mission, The Prairie Alumnae Chapter offers two yearly scholarships. These scholarships will be awarded to a prospective Prairie View A&M female student and a current Prairie View A&M undergraduate and/or graduate student.
